A Fire  broke out today at 13 Blackman Ave. in Bethel CT  at around Noon. The home was the historic Daniel Hickok House.Bethel, Stony Hill, Danbury E-22, Dodgingtown, West Redding were all on scene and  put the fire out within a half hour of arriving on the scene. Everyone in the house was able to get out and no injuries were reported.  As of 4 pm fire officials were still on the scene and the road is still closed to traffic with no eta of opening. .

Marc Moorash from Bethel Historical Society  is very grateful no one was hurt during the fire . “We may have, however, lost one of Bethel’s very historic homes at 13 Blackman Avenue today”. There’s a chapter in Town Historian Patrick Tierney Wild’s Historic Tales of Bethel – you can see it here – go to Chapter Two: https://books.google.com/books

We will update the article with cause of fire as it becomes available.
